Fans of Resident Evil have a lot to look forward to next month, what with the HD remake of the original game hitting alongside Resident Evil Revelations 2. But it appears that yet another entry in the series will be getting remade for next-gen consoles- Resident Evil Zero.
Barry Burton Returns In Resident Evil Revelations 2
An eagle-eyed Neogaf member spotted the above image on Capcom's Japanese site, where they were showing off some of the exclusive PlayStation themes you could get for pre-ordering Biohazard Remaster HD (Biohazard is the original title for Resident Evil). As you can see, the fourth icon from the left is clearly one for Resident Evil Zero, which has never made its way onto a PlayStation system before.
It's a small clue but things were soon made more mysterious when Capcom updated the image to remove the icon, as if perhaps it was a tidbit not meant for public consumption just yet.
Preorder Resident Evil HD Remake And Receive PS3/PS4 Cross Play Functionality
If it turns out to be true, it would be great for fans. Resident Evil Zero was only released on the GameCube and Wii so it isn't as well-known as many of the others. It got a fair bit of criticism upon release but still included a lot of features that became used again later in the series, such as offering two playable characters that you can swap between, as Resident Evil Revelations 2 is doing.
There's no official word from Capcom one way or the other, but we'll have more as we hear it!
