Rockstar is extending Christmas!
PSN Still Offline Following Alleged Christmas Day Attack, Xbox Live Now Seemingly Back On Its Feet
Okay, so maybe it doesn't exactly have that power, but it is lengthening the in-game "Festive Surprise" gift period for Grand Theft Auto Online on all systems. The developers originally planned to give away items to players on Christmas, but almost-complete outages of PSN and Xbox Live yesterday and for some of today prevented many people from collecting.

As reported by Kotaku, the developers tweeted that they will extend the gift period until at least some point today to make up for the outage. While Rockstar certainly didn't have to continue its GTA Online Festive Surprise event into today, it's a good gesture on the team's part--what's the point if most people couldn't even participate?
Due to issues with PSN & XBL connectivity, we're extending the GTA Online Festive Surprise Christmas Day inventory gifts for the time being.

As for what you actually get from the event (if you've been unable to log in so far to see for yourself), check out the video below. It outlines the gifts, which will be added to your inventory automatically when signing on. Your best bet is to log on as soon as possible since, as you can see above, the developers did not specify when they would end the extended gift period. Happy holidays!
