In a press release today, Gazillion Entertainment gave us its first glimpse into the anticipated Marvel Heroes.
Included as playable characters from the Marvel universe are Spiderman, Deadpool, X-Men Cable, Wolverine, Cyclops, Fantastic Four's Thing, Avengers Ms. Marvel, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, and the Incredible Hulk. Players will be able to customize their characters with costumes, choose different super powers, and pick up thousands of status altering items.
Players will go from famous Marvel sites like Xavier's Mansion, the Savage Land, and Manhattan to stop Dr. Doom from world destruction. Responsible for the story is writer Brian Michael Bendis, whose credits include Secret Invasion, Ultimate Spider-Man, and New Avengers. He says that Marvel Heroes is inspired by some of the biggest and world altering events in the history of Marvel comics.
Gazillion Entertainment President David Brevik said, "I've been a big Marvel fan for all of my life. Marvel Heroes represents the combination of Marvel IP with all of the knowledge and experience I gained creating Diablo. It is a dream come true. I'm excited to unveil Marvel Heroes and share this revolutionary MMO with both gamers and Marvel fans."
Marvel's Vice President of Games was excited as well, saying that Marvel Heroes, "marks a new era in gaming for us. For fans to actually become their favorite heroes in an original storyline, explore iconic Marvel landscapes and combat some of the most dangerous villains in a shared experience is unbelievably compelling."
