Tanki Online's newest turret, Hammer, is now online, satisfying the notebook doodles of middle schoolers everywhere by welding giant shotguns to the tops of tanks.

As fans of shooter games might already realize based on the developers' description of the new turret as a shotgun, Hammer is useful for any tanker who likes to battle in close quarters. The turret shoots many pellets in a cone-shaped area of effect, and tanks take damage based on how many pellets from the weapon they're struck by. So Hammer can either be used to deal medium damage to several tanks at mid-range or devastate a single tank at close range.
In terms of comparing Hammer's feel to existing turrets in Tanki, developer AlternativaPlatform offers that its rate of fire is like what you'd see with a Smoky turret, though it has to reload after three shots. It's reload time, then, is similar to that of Railgun.

Now that the turret is out, the developers will start adding in general Hammer protection into some of the paints already out in the game. More specialized paints will then be released that deal more specifically with mitigating Hammer damage.
When the developers first revealed the then-unnamed Hammer turret, they also announced an in-progress turret that functions more like a machine gun. Now, the machine gun turret has been fleshed out with in-game models and animations, and it's only waiting for the community to give it a name.
