EA's mobile port of SimCity, which launches globally today, is filled with different choices that you can make throughout your tenure as mayor of your little handheld city. In the game's latest behind the scenes video, EA shows off all of the different decisions that fall under your control in SimCity BuildIt.
Clash Of Clans Strategy Invests Heavily In Girl Power
The choices you make in SimCity BuildIt extend far beyond laying out the street plan of your mobile city and setting up zoning areas. In the game, players can choose what industries they'd like their city to focus on. Players have the option of constructing iconic landmarks like the Empire State Building and the Brandenburg Gate, but spending the time and resources it takes to build those might require letting the city's educational infrastructure fall to the wayside, for example.
Players also need to make sure that their city is producing enough resources. The port's resource system is an addition to the existing SimCity formula that forces players to produce resources like metal, wood and more through industrial buildings in order to construct additional items for their cities. Players can also produce goods in their cities that can then be shipped off in exchange for golden keys, items that allow the player to build specialty buildings like casinos.
Audio Defense: Zombie Arena Review
After puttering around in a handful of markets in a soft launch, SimCity BuildIt is now available for iOS and Android devices around the world. Based on the SimCity game from 2013, SimCity BuildIt adds touch controls to the city-building game. As a free-to-play title, it also includes a couple of added mechanics, like the new resource system, that make the game feel more like a mobile game.
SimCity BuildIt is now available on iTunes and Google Play.
