What lessons have we learned from video games that remain in our daily routine? Aside from leaping on turtles and kicking their shells at vague mushroom-shaped creatures or leaping into pipes to collect gold coins, gaming has taught us a number of life lessons. Over the last 15 years, no game has clearly taught more than the Grand Theft Auto series when it comes to interacting with your fellow gamers or gangsters.
As #WhatGrandTheftAutoTaughtMe trends on Twitter, some lessons become more apparent than others. For example, a lot of folks are tweeting about killing cops, but there was far more to that in GTA and probably more lessons from Grand Theft Auto V.
"it's possible to carry a chainsaw, shotgun, sniper, pistol, grenade launcher, & a bazooka in my pocket".
"the best way to treat a shotgun wound is to eat a hot dog".
"'Boyz in The Hood' taught me what GTA meant"
Our own thoughts on what Grand Theft Auto has taught us? Hm.
• A Taxi is just a "Yellow Car."
• Flying a helicopter is not as easy as pressing a button and you can't park them wherever you want.
• It's easy to have a million dollars.
• No one locks their car doors; the entire world is like Zipcar.
• If you swim in the river you'll die.
• No matter your intentions, you'll still drive on the sidewalk and run people over.
• Street racing is only fun with rocket launchers.
• The person you mug or shoot will likely reappear within two blocks.
• That people still listen to the radio.
What other thoughts or lessons has Grand Theft Auto left with you?
