Metro Redux Linux Released: The Excellent PC And Console Remastering Of 2033 And Last Light Is Now Available Through Steam

4A Games and Deep Silver have announced the release of Metro Redux for Linux via Steam.

The combined remastering of both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light launched for consoles earlier this year, and we thought it was excellent. Redux brings the advanced features of Last Light to 2033, and visually enhances both titles. Even better, the game is 50 percent off for the launch until December 15.

The re-release was especially beneficial on console, where the first two iterations struggled. The PC editions were superior in performance and appearance, so updated HD console versions (available on PS4 and Xbox One) were a huge boon. The original PC games were already capable of higher-fidelity visuals, so if you've played both games on the platform already there admittedly may not be as much incentive. Still, both games have been tweaked and had features added, and 2033 in particular has benefited--if you haven't played one or both, this package is the best way to do so.

"This has allowed us to deliver an experience that rivals the DX11 version for Windows in terms of graphical fidelity and performance - something that was just not possible when we ported the original Metro: Last Light to Linux a year ago."
