Square Enix unveiled a new, limited Collector’s Edition of their forthcoming Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for both America and European markets.
Before The Rise Of Tomb Raider, An Even Prequelier Live Action Series Announced
The $99 Collector’s Edition is fully loaded with extra goodies for the longtime Final Fantasy fan. The game arrives in a bespoke (a high falutin way of saying ‘custom’) box with the physical copy of the game itself contained with a golden Steelbook. The case art is drawn by celebrated Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano. The official PlayStation blog post describes the art, which depicts the goddess of Orience, as one of Amano’s “finest pieces”.
An additional 80 page hardcover art book titled “Class Zero 842” chronicles the characters, enemies and world of Orience with a variety of stunning high-quality renders and concept art. The set comes with five life-size replicas of the iconic playing cards used by Class Zero’s Ace. Each card represents five of the Type-0 Eidolons (summons): Odin, Ifrit, Shiva, Diabolos, and naturally, Bahamut.

A 200 page manga, available for the first time outside of Japan, will delve into the history of Class Zero, the group of students who are the protagonists of the game.
Alongside the game disc will be the 15 track collection of songs from Takeharu Ishimoto, the game’s composer. Ishimoto also scored the music to the surprisingly fun Crisis Core title from a few years back.
But wait, there’s more! Pre-ordering the Collector’s Edition from the Square Enix store and you will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes where “you could win a Final Fantasy Type-0 custom PS4, an art canvas of Ace, a Vermilion Bird lapel pin that retails for $200… and a whole bunch of runner up prizes, too.”
However, if you are only using Final Fantasy Type-0 HD to get to Final Fantasy XV, be wary: the first demo chapter of XV, titled Episode Duscae, is only available to those players who pre-order any edition of the game. The FF XV demo will only ship with the Day One supply and will not be released at any other time after that.
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD hits shelves on March 17 of next year.
