Christmas has come early, thanks to the fine folks over at Supercell. The game’s company has released the next big winter update for everyone’s favorite free to play game, Clash of Clans.

So what has Supercell stuffed in our stockings or placed under our trees? First and foremost, a wealth of economy balance changes, including increasing both Gold Mines and Elixir Collectors to level 12, have been implemented. The central focus behind this update is money and the company is basically increasing the supply of gold, elixir and especially Dark Elixir to better meet the growing demand for higher level units like Lava Hounds.
Speaking of, the Dark Elixir drills have had their levels reduced. You can now purchase your first at Town Hall 7, and your second at Town Hall 8. The drills have also had their maximum capacity increased to better suit your needs.
Boom Beach Gets The Grenadier As Part Of Winter Update
Players will notice that their archer towers are dealing out death at a faster rate. The towers have had their speed doubled, but their damage halved. This won’t affect combat against a similarly leveled opponent, however, if you send in waves and waves of units - such as other archers - against a fully upgraded Archer Tower, expect your forces to get decimated much quicker.
The hit points on Cannons, Barracks, Laboratory, Spell Factory and Dark Elixir Drills have been increased, while hit points on Army Camps have been drastically reduced. All the better for destroying you, my dear. Many other buildings have also had their hit points adjusted.
Now, you will no longer be locked out of your village if you are under attack. Live replays are available for such occasions. Now you can watch the action in real time. Imagine not knowing the outcome beforehand. Sounds like fun.
The update will also let you edit multiple town layouts, because those things take a long, long time to perfect. You can also save and switch between several layouts, too.
The patch is live now. Just fire up and Clash of Clans and get out there.
