Today video game accessory maker Nyko announced the retail release of two devices that help keep next-gen controllers charged and ready to go, the Modular Power Station for Xbox One and the Modular Charge Kit for PlayStation 4.
Minecraft's Console Editions Get A Couple Of Updates
The Modular Charge Kit tacks on the the edge of your new Sony console, blending in fairly well by mimicking the console's existing design. The kit contains two retractable micro-USB cables that can be rolled out whenever your DualShock 4 needs charging and then tucked back inside when you're done, making it so that you don't have to keep track of any more wires.
As an added bonus, the Modular Charge Kit comes with a detachable cleaning brush to keep your PS4 looking like it just got off the factory floor.
Week 2 Of The PSN Holiday Sales Starts With New Games And Movies Available At A Discount
The Modular Power Station is the Xbox One version of Nyko's new retail releases. This console add-on hides two rechargeable battery packs in its compartment that are ready to go whenever you need them. If your Xbox One controller craps out on you mid-way through a game, just replace the controller's battery pack with one in the Power Station, and you're ready to go. Once the new battery pack is in your controller, the Power Station will start charging the used one, making sure your controllers have a steady stream of batteries available. LED icons on the front of the station will let you know when your battery is finished charging.
“The Power Station is designed with marathon-session gamers in mind,” said Chris Arbogast, director of marketing at Nyko Technologies, in a release. “It allows players to hot-swap their controllers’ batteries without breaking momentum, so running out of power will never again force an undesired gaming break.”
The PS4 Modular Charge Kit is now available at retail locations for $19.99. The Xbox One Modular Power Station can be picked up for $29.99.
