A couple of new Minecraft updates are rolling out across consoles today, giving both Xbox One and PlayStation players some new goodies to pick up and allowing Xbox One owners more leeway to further explore their old world saves.

The first system with a new Minecraft update is the Xbox One. Not only are Xbox One players getting access to the Festive Mash-up Pack that was announced earlier this week, but Minecraft console developer 4J Studios has also put in a new feature for resizing worlds. With the World Resize option, Xbox One players can take smaller Minecraft worlds and expand them so they can take full advantage of the next-gen console's power.
This is probably most exciting for Xbox 360 Minecraft players who have since upgraded their game and transferred their old saves to the Xbox One. The Xbox 360 game had a world size limit that the Xbox One breezes past. So smaller worlds that players had been building on the Xbox 360 can now be expanded to a full-size world on the Xbox One.

PlayStation platforms are also getting a Minecraft update today across North America. Two new texture packs that rolled out earlier in Europe – the Skyrim Mash-up Pack and Steampunk Texture Pack – are finally hitting the States on all three Sony platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.
With the Steampunk Texture Pack, Minecraft players can turn their existing worlds into a steam-driven, Victorian setting, complete with unironic mustaches and monocles. The Skyrim Mash-up Pack takes Minecraft worlds back in time even further to a world filled with impressive castles, Orcs, Khajiits and, of course, dragons, all inspired by The Elder Scrolls V.
An update is rolling out in North America now to enable the Skyrim Mash-up Pack and Steampunk Texture Pack for PlayStation platforms.
