Wonder Woman is one of the most looked forward to properties in development. The DC Icon has fans chomping at the bit to see a new film featuring the hero. Now after some rumored filled silence, it seems that the company may finally have settled on a writer for the project, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Mark Hamill Returns as Trickster Villain in New Flash Episode
The lucky man is actor/writer Jason Fuchs. Currently he is in talks with the company to write the film. A little worrying is his lack of writing credits with his only major film having been Ice Age: Continental Drift. This is his only feature film to have been released but he also penned Pan which is due for release the summer of 2015.
Also attached to the project is director Michelle MacLaren and actress Gal Gadot as the title character. We first saw hint of her in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Fuchs will work closely with MacLaren on drafts of the film.
Batman v Superman Features More than Heroes
This is the fourth film in the new DC cinematic universe, which Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad are a part of. DC is hoping that its position as a lead in for the Justice League movie as well as it featuring a prominent female lead and story line will help it to shoot to the top of the box offices. This would be the first film from either DC or Marvel to feature a story based solely around a female lead. The movie is set to release in the summer of 2017.
