Have you had enough of zombies in popular culture? Of course not. Zombies will never die. Adding fresh meat to the charnel house is Crackle with new film Dead Rising: Watchtower coming in 2015.
The Walking Dead Gets New Cast for Spinoff
Watchtower is set during a massive, epidemic size zombie outbreak. Nowhere is safe. During the course of the plot we learned that a mandatory government vaccine has failed to protect the populace and instead of not turning into walking corpses, people are still very much rising from their graves to feast on the living. The four main characters of the film have to survive the hordes of the once living all while trying to unravel the government plot
The story, written by Tim Carter, will star Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory, Virginia Madsen, and Dennis Haysbert in the four main roles.
Double the Film, Double the Terror for New It Adaptation
The film is based on the Dead Rising game series. The first game was an Xbox 360 exclusive and featured Frank West, photojournalist, who travels to a mall much like the Mall of America in order to get to the bottom of the outbreak. The place is overrun with zombies and Frank must survive until a helicopter returns to pick him up. One of the top features of the game was the ability to use anything and everything as a weapon and in a giant mall, that lead to a lot of creative kills under Mr. West's belt. The poster indicates that this will continue in Watchtower.
The new film features an entirely new story and will be distributed by Crackle directly. After a predetermined time frame, it will then be released on SVOD, DVD, VOD and on TV. Check out the trailer for Dead Rising 3 to get you in the mood.
