Pay attention closely, because I want this to sink in: at this very moment on Indiegogo, there is an independent game developer who needs your money to create a new visual novel-type game and it is called Dragon Dating Simulator. And you must give money to this person.

Let's face it, pigeon dating is over. And dinosaur erotica lacks the, shall we say, supernatural element that the legendary beasts possess. This is all real and you have given more money to worse ideas (like potato salad).
The current Indiegogo campaign is about two weeks into its fundraising and it is not looking good. M.B. Saunders, the creator, has raised less than the 8000 pounds the project is seeking. Time is running out, people!

The team is completely serious. They recently did a Q&A with GamingBlend, "I think most people would expect the game to be nothing more than a comedy or parody on the genre based on the title and premise alone, but there is a lot more going on than that, even if I have to admit the title for the game was chosen in part to incite such a reaction. The relationships will be treated candidly, though, so players who will go into the game just for giggles will be in for a surprise, despite the comedic elements."
As to the question, 'why dragons?' Rather than simply stating 'why not?' Saunders answers: "We think dragons today are suffering from a substantial image problem. While popular media usually credits them as the amazing and powerful creatures they are, too often are they also depicted as being stereotypically evil or uncaring. Our aim is to show the world that dragons are people too. They think, speak, experience happiness and pain and can also be gentle and loving as well."
"However, there will be no explicit scenes, if that is what you're asking.." Saunders post on the Indiegogo page.
The game is part dating sim, part choose your own adventure, part adventure novel, and part murder mystery thrown in for good measure.
I know what you're thinking: this is a punk. I don't think so. But then again I'm far too trusting in this world and the craziest ideas are the ones that I glom onto. However, isn't seeing this Dragon Dating Simulator (a title which needs some work) come to life worth but a few of your spare dollars? Forego the fancy latte for one day and make someone else's dream come true.
