Looks like the Avengers dissembled a bit prematurely as the stars of Avengers: Age of Ultron are being called back to London to reshoot some scenes. They'll be showing up in all their superhero glory early in the New Year to finish up the film.
Avengers: Ultrong Forever Introduces a World Where Hereos Lose
This is according to a report from The Daily Mail, which hints that the extra footage will be used to increase the amount of action scenes.
Not all of The Avengers have to show up for the extra shots. As it stands right now all of the main characters are on call to return sans Chris Evans (Captain America), but the list does include Paul Bettany, who is taking up the role of The Vision, and heartthrob Tom Hiddleston, who plays the trickster Loki.
Of course, the studio put out a blanket statement to ensure that whoever they end up needing is available for the two week period planned for January. No word on which scenes need a do over but it's likely a move to beef up the action. Of course, how exactly can you top destroying New York City? I'm sure we'll find out. Reshoots are pretty standard practice so this may be nothing and generally it's only when studios have to reshoot massive scenes that the film may be in trouble. That doesn't seem to be the case here.

In other news, Avengers 3 and 4 will be shooting back to back beginning in 2015. Remember in the days of our youth when a solid movie franchise was only three films? Those days are over. Four or more from now on. The next installment of the franchise will be Avengers: Infinity War Pt 1 and 2. Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to release May 2015.
