Square Enix has announced Heavenstrike Rivals, a new real-time strategy RPG for mobile devices due out this winter on iOS and Android.
Final Fantasy XIV Artbook Higlights The Beauty Of Eorzea
Heavenstrike Rivals is a tactical RPG in the same vein as Hero Academy and of course, Final Fantasy Tactics. The game "features a battle system designed especially for mobile devices that's easy to learn but with deep strategic possibilities, quick-entry player-vs-player combat, and hundreds of unique characters to collect, grow and evolve."
The title was developed in collaboration with Mediatonic Ltd, a UK based developer and features characters designed by Ryoma Ito (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance) and music by Ryo Yamazaki (Final Fantasy XIV).
LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham DLC Is Very Bizarro
From the official Square Enix press release, "Heavenstrike Rivals is set in the once prosperous aerial kingdom of Lunnain tattered by the Fallen - a vicious group of nightmarish monsters seeking only the complete destruction of the kingdom. Following these ruthless attacks, the people of Lunnain have come together to repel the Fallen and strike back at the heavens."
Players engage each other on a 7x3 board and can compete in weekend events and Arena competitions for even better rewards.
Heavenstrike Rivals is currently out in beta in Canada and Australia. The free to play title will launch on mobile titles this December. Yes, it will feature in-app purchases.
