It was recently announced that the Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens teaser would be shown in select theaters on Friday, but it has now been confirmed that the trailer will be officially shown online, as well.

The Star Wars Twitter account tweeted that the teaser will also release Friday through iTunes Trailers. This is sure to be an easier way to view the first look at the massively anticipated entry in the famous series than catching it before a movie in theaters.

The clip will be about 88 seconds long, which is far from a full-length trailer, but better than a meaningless 15 or 30 second snippet. There should be time for some sort of narration and perhaps a glimpse of a character or setting, but don't get your expectations too high. Better than nothing, though, I say, and now anyone around the world can watch.
