As if anyone needed proof other than the new first-person mode that the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V wasn't just a straight port, this new little secret making its way around the Internet should do the trick.
GTA Online's Transfer Problems Have Been Fixed
The new secret has to do with the addition of peyote plants into the game. In the next-gen versions of GTA V, a total 27 peyote plants are scattered throughout Los Santos. When you find one and give your character the go-ahead to pick up and eat the psychoactive plant, the character starts hallucinating and wakes up as one of several different animals.
For the next few minutes, the player can then run, swim or fly around as the animal they turn into. As many YouTubers have discovered, there are many different animals that the player can wake up as, and the result seems to be semi-random. When a player finds a peyote plant up in the mountains, it looks like he will turn into some kind of bird – chickens, seagulls and ravens being just some of the possibilities. On ground level, the player can turn into a dog, cat or other land animal. Finally, if the player finds one of the underwater peyote locations, he can turn into a fish, stingray or even a shark.
A Small Update Is Coming To Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare's Last-Gen Console Versions
The animal sequences look to be mostly for giggles as you wander around for a bit (you seem to turn back into a human after a couple of minutes or once your animal dies). Some animals have extra functions attached. Birds can poop on unsuspecting civilians below while dogs and sharks can actually attack people, which may cause armed NPCs to try to take you down. Perhaps the most enjoyable part, though, is listening to the internal dialog of your character as he comes to grips with his new form.
Grand Theft Auto V is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in addition to the extant last-gen console versions. A PC version is in the works for 2015.
