A new poster for the next Dragon Ball Z film has surfaced online, giving away a bevy of information about the movie due out in 2015. Note: plot and background details for the film are ahead.
Dragon Ball Z Battle Of Gods A Commercial Success
The image of the poster shown above comes courtesy of the January issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine, posted online by Anime News Network. The most noticeable part of the poster is the presence of Frieza, arguably the series' best and most popular villain.
The title of the film will be Dragon Ball Z: F Is For Fukkatsu (meaning resurrection or revival), and the F does stand for Frieza, according to Shueisha's V Jump's interview with series creator Akira Toriyama. The magazine even offers an overview of the plot, according to ANN, which involves remnants of Frieza's army returning to a peaceful Earth and using the dragon balls to wish him back to life.
Our Dragon Ball Xenoverse Hands-On Impressions
Also present is Lord Beerus, the powerful figure central to the plot of the last Dragon Ball Z film, Battle of Gods (you can read our review here). He's joined by a case of others you may recognize, in addition to two new characters along the bottom of the poster-the magazine reveals them to be Frieza's henchmen Sorbet (the short one) and Tagoma (the taller one). The film looks set to open in Japanese theaters in April next year-plans for a U.S. release similar to that of Battle of Gods is currently unclear.
