Tangled Paths, the next episode for the second season of Guild Wars 2's Living World, has been released today.

The episode continues the story's path toward confrontation with Mordremoth, the Elder Dragon, with players sent in search of a newly discovered dragon egg to aid their fight. In terms of gameplay, these means new areas to explore and items to collect.

In particular, the search will take players to the Silverwastes, including underground caverns where they'll need the help of siege devourers to defeat mordrem hunters. Another piece of Carapace armor is available--the gloves--bringing players closer to a complete set. Once acquired, the game allows players to begin collecting materials for the upgraded Luminescent gloves.
The Living World is Guild Wars 2's constantly-updating storyline. Developers ArenaNet consistently release new content that unlocks new gameplay elements and locations, in addition to progressing the narrative. The added Story Journal allows players to jump back to any past events and replay episodes at will. Season 1 ended in a huge boss battle against the story's first main villain, and the fallout altered the face of the MMO's game world. The conclusion of Season 2 will likely have similar game-changing events, especially with the stakes raised and the presence of Mordremoth.
