Assassin's Creed Unity Patch Update: Patch 3 Outline Includes Crash Fixes, AI Improvements But Not Frame Rate Drops Yet

Ubisoft Lays Out A Game Plan For The Third Patch For Assassin's Creed Unity

At the end of last week, PlayStation 4 and PC players were treated to Patch 2 for Assassin's Creed Unity. A patch date for the Xbox One doesn't seem to be out yet, but what we do have is Ubisoft's outline for what's on track to be tackled in Patch 3.

Check Out What PS4 And PC Players Saw With Unity's Patch 2

A full list of what Ubisoft plans to take on in Patch 3 can be found over on Ubisoft's live updates page (thanks, GameSpot). Ubisoft notes, however, that this is not a definitive list of what will end up being in the game's third patch. The post also notes that the frame rate drops many players have been reporting since launch will likely not be addressed in Patch 3, as the development team is still looking into the issue. As a workaround, Ubisoft suggests disconnecting from the Internet while playing the single player campaign, as this might get you a few more frames per second.

Patch 2 fixed a common issue where players could get stuck in a hay cart next to Paris' Pantheon. Patch 3 looks to be following up on this by fixing more areas where Arno is liable to get stuck. It also wants to take a look at problems regarding both the game's new cover system and the game's camera.

The Glitches Are Slowly Getting Fixed, But You Can Still Laugh At The Bugs Players Managed To Capture Early In Unity's Launch

The AI is on the fix list for Patch 3. The crowds in Unity can be massive, and the next patch should hopefully take care of bugs that were affecting NPC detection and pathfinding. The game's much-advertised co-op mode is also under scrutiny in Patch 3, including issues with joining in-progress sessions and host migrations.

Ubisoft didn't give a release schedule for Patch 3, though they might be preoccupied with getting Patch 2 out to Xbox One players first. Patch 2 solved a couple of problems regarding clipping through the streets of Paris into the while abyss below and crashes that occurred in the game's co-op mode.

Assassin's Creed Unity is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
