Ten minutes of gameplay footage of the upcoming Final Fantasy XV has been making the rounds across the internet recently. Now, it's finally in glorious HD.

You can say what you want about the current crop of Final Fantasy titles, but 'being ugly' is certainly not one of them.
The demo features the four main characters taking a leisurely drive across the vast and lush world, then hopping out for what can only be described as an impromptu jog through the woods. I mean, they didn't even bring any camping gear and they end spending the whole night! That one dude doesn't even have sleeves on his shirt and it looks cold, man. It looks really cold.

The gameplay presented is all routine, little more than wandering aimlessly around (as one is wont to do in any Final Fantasy game), and yet it looks stunning.
We've captured some of the more 'frame-worthy' shots of their camping trip abroad. See below.
The footage is the same as was released during a recent Sony livestream. In it, the developers answered a few questions, the most prominent being that the game's main storyline will take about 40 hours to complete. That is...not a lot of time. In fact, that's only slightly longer than the TUTORIAL in Final Fantasy XIII. Hopefully this means we can expect some tighter game design in this go-around.
Final Fantasy XV arrives next year. The first 'chapter', titled Final Fantasy Episode Duscae will be released as a demo alongside Final Fantasy Type-0 HD in March.
