It's getting to be about that time again, the time where we wait patiently for Hi-Rez to give out new details for an upcoming god. This time around, the new playable character the community is looking forward to is not so much new, but he is improved. Ao Kuang is making his glorious return to the battlefield of Smite.
Smite's Console Version Should Be Here By Mid-2015
The news was officially confirmed by the Smite Twitter account yesterday, and new videos with developers talking about the god's kit and showing him in action should be dropping soon.
From what we know already, Ao Kuang is losing his former dragon form and coming back as a sword-wielding mage. According to early information that has been teased out by the community, Ao Kuang is set to be a short-range, melee-focused mage with high potential for serious burst damage on a single opponent.
The Last New Character We Got Was Nox, Roman Goddess Of Night
The next god to be released will be the new Ao Kuang! What questions do you have for his designers?

Ao Kuang was originally in Smite as a Chinese dragon with a kit that gave him plenty of range and mobility. Not too long ago, Ao Kuang was replaced by the Mayan god Kukulkan, another dragon whose kit was more or less identical to Ao Kuang's original moveset. The changes made for Kukulkan were largely aesthetic, allowing Ao Kuang to be reborn as the sword-toting god that will make his debut in the next patch. Ao Kuang's dragon form isn't completely absent, though. According to the early information, his ultimate ability looks like it still incorporates the god's dragon form as a special bonus.
Look out for more details regarding the return of Ao Kuang to pop up over the next two weeks.
Smite is free to play for PC.
