Telltale Games has released new details on its upcoming Game of Thrones adaptation series, revealing who players will be taking control of and a glimpse of the game's settings.
The Forest's Latest Update Adds Cooperative Multiplayer
The series will focus on House Forrester, who--like many people in the A Song of Ice and Fire universe--are attempting to avoid their family's doom. The game's events will begin towards the end of the HBO series' third season, ending its narrative arc just before the beginning of season five.
Ironrath, the home of House Forrester, will serve as one of the game's locations alongside some more well-known locales such as The Wall and King's Landing. Telltale's blog post explains Forrester is a noble house from the Wolfswood in the north of Westeros, Bannermen of House Glover in ultimate support of House Stark. Here's their description of the family:
"The Forresters are seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees. Built over fifteen hundred years ago by Cedric Forrester and his triplet sons, Ironrath is a testament to the strength and endurance of Ironwood. The Forrester house words are 'Iron from Ice', which echoes their belief that - like the ironwood itself - the adverse conditions and unforgiving landscape of the North only makes them stronger."
Grand Theft Auto 5 PS4, Xbox One And PC Launch Trailer Released
The Forresters have not shown up in the HBO series, but are an established family created by author George R.R. Martin for the books (they do appear A Dance with Dragons). You will play from the perspective of five different house members (either direct family of the house or a servant) scattered across Westeros and Essos. The first episode will launch "soon", before the end of the year, on PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, and iOS.
