Indie hit Terraria is making its way to the PlayStation 4, and the developers are working to ensure that returning players get more than just a shiny new polish on the game's looks when they upgrade.
The Binding Of Isaac Remake Is Part Of This Month's PS Plus Free Games
The 2D exploration and crafting game will have tons of new content when it hits the PS4. As might be expected, the game is getting a fresh spit-shine on its graphics, and it supports worlds three times as large as those on the PS3 version. Moreover, though, the game's developers are adding in more types of ore, wood, brick, NPCs, pets, enemies, bosses and many other aspects of the game. In all, more than 1,000 new items will be added in the PS4 game, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog.
When Terraria finally hits the PS4, it will be eligible for cross-play with both the PS3 and Vita, meaning players on all three systems can enjoy multiplayer together or transfer saves from one system to another. To celebrate, the Terraria PS Vita game will come free with any purchase of the PS4 game for a short time after launch.
Minecraft Developer Mojang Is Now Officially A Part Of Microsoft
One new feature being brought to the PS4 game makes interesting use of the DualShock 4. By pinching on the controller's central touch screen as you would on a tablet or smartphone, players will be able to zoom the game's camera in and out, so the game's wide maps will never get too cumbersome or confusing. Further, the developers are working on a companion app that would let players have a comprehensive World Map at their side at all times.
Terraria will make its way to the PS4 on December 2.
