Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare Blocking PS4 Share Play Feature

Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare Not Allowing Owners To Use PS4 Share Play Feature

At this time, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare seems to block the PlayStation 4's new Share Play feature.

Microsoft Officially Completes $2.5 Billion Purchase Of Minecraft And Developer Mojang

Share Play allows console owners to let friends play a game they don't own through internet sharing, with no downloads required. Trying to use it with the newly released Call of Duty title, however, will give you an error message.

Gamespot first reported the troubles, and Game Informer has independently confirmed the error as well. Before you jump to conclusions about Activision using consumer-hostile practices (still possible), the feature just may not be working properly. Sony's 2.00 software that gave us Share Play has been troublesome, and both the feature and Advanced Warfare are new.

Does Xbox One Or PS4 Run Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare Better?

That said, Sony did provide tools for developers to block out use of the console's share features, which could certainly extend to Share Play. If for whatever reason Activision doesn't want players sharing its new game (for example, potentially lost sales, though using Share Play is far from owning a game yourself) going forward, though, there isn't much players can do. GI notes that Call of Duty: Ghosts works with the feature, so it may very well be a decision or change Activision makes in coming days-stay tuned for more news.
