After more than a month of waiting, the substantial 7.2 patch for Puzzle and Dragons – complete with new ultimate evolutions, coin dungeons, and quicker stamina regeneration – has finally come Stateside today with the advent of update 7.2.1.
North American PaD Players Are Getting Their Very Own Collaboration Starring DC Superheroes
With 7.2.1, North American players finally get to take advantage of the newly halved stamina regeneration times. Previously, it would take 10 minutes for your in-game stamina to recover one unit. Now, that wait time has been cut in half, and it takes only five minutes for your stamina to start climbing back up. With this change, Puzzle and Dragons players can now embark on twice as much dungeon crawling each day, leading to more coins and more monsters to catch.
Another new feature being brought into the game with the 7.2.1 patch is the coin dungeon. Hour-long access to coin dungeons can be bought by players over level 80 for a pretty sizable chunk of in-game change. Developer GungHo warns, though, that this feature might not be available immediately since the game is still adjusting for the gained hour of Daylight Savings Time, which ended today.

Today's update also adds a new feature for higher-level players looking to beef up the strength of their toughest monsters' skills. Now, when players fuse two ultimate evolved monsters with identical IDs both at level 99 in the power-up screen, the monster being powered up is guaranteed to get a skill-up. The game gives you a little hint to let you know you're doing this right by making the monster being used as evolution material flash white on the screen. If you don't see this happening, don't fuse the two monsters. You'll likely end up just wasting an ultimate evolved monster.
Apart from a few UI and graphical tweaks, the last two things the 7.2.1 update adds are a collection of new ultimate evolutions for some of the game's gods and a few skill adjustments to a handful of abilities. You can check out the game's official Facebook post to learn more about these additions.
