Rainbow Moon has spent this whole month on the PS Plus free game list for the Vita, and now it makes more sense why. Developer SideQuest Studios revealed a new gameplay trailer on the PlayStation Blog for its upcoming RPG Rainbow Skies, an indirect sequel to the studio's PS3/Vita title Rainbow Moon.
Both Seasons Of The Walking Dead Game Now Available On Next-Gen Consoles
In Rainbow Skies, the player can take on the roles of three main characters, each representing a different trope of RPG hero. Damion rocks the traditional warrior look, forgoing a shield to make room for another sword in his hands. Layne represents the rangers of the RPG world, fighting from a distance with a bow. Finally, the mage Ashly rounds out the lineup of playable characters.
Gameplay looks largely dungeon-based, though some exterior levels are included in the game as well. Players can battle against and tame more than 100 different models of monster as they upgrade their player characters to higher levels and equip them with only the coolest looking armor.
PlayStation TV Review Round-up
As an indirect sequel, Rainbow Skies takes place in a different world from Rainbow Moon. The original game first released for the PlayStation 3 in 2012 before getting ported to the Vita a year later. For its follow-up game, SideQuest is promising a world with 10 times as much content as players were able to get in Rainbow Moon. The gameplay elements from the previous game are holding steady, but the experience is getting beefed up to new proportions.
Rainbow Skies is expected to release for PlayStation systems in 2015.
