A new trailer has been released for the live action webseries Halo: Nightfall.

Ridley Scott--the man behind Blade Runner, Black Hawk Down and Prometheus--is the series' executive producer, working alongside Halo developer 343 Industries. Nightfall will be viewable on Xbox 360 and Xbox One starting November 11.
The series focuses on the origin story of Agent Locke, a secondary playable character in the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians. The story will connect those from Halo 4 and Halo 5, serving as a bridge between the two. Halo 4 was the first title in the franchise developed by 343 after taking the reins from Bungie, and they will be following up their effort with The Master Chief Collection next month. The collection will include all past main Halo titles on one disc, with online multiplayer for each game. Halo 5 is not due out until sometime late in 2015.
The Nightfall trailer, below, certainly looks slick visually--hopefully the story and acting will live up to the appeal. Live action crossovers such as this as prone to coming off cheesy, but it's hard to tell what we're going to get based solely off a trailer. Still, it certainly looks and sounds like Halo, an alternative to the hyped full motion picture that fell short of coming to fruition.
