Halloween is right around the corner and Sony is both treating us to a new sale, and attempting to trick us by pulling one over on the copy they're using to promote it.
Sleepy Hollow Review: The Weeping Lady
For their Halloween sale, Sony has utilized the blatantly obvious font used for the Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive. There is nothing illegal about this, no copyrights were broken. The developers of the game even released the font, known as Overdrive Sunset, as a free package for anyone and everyone to use. There's no actual harm nor foul, we are all only human after all.
Cribbed font or not, there is still a sale on over at the PlayStation store. For the next two weeks, Sony is heavily discounting certain scary titles up to 65% off, with PS Plus members receiving deals of 80% on select offerings. The first week sales are happening now and run through Monday, while week two begins next Tuesday, October 28 and go through until November 3.
Xbox One November Update Previewed
You can get most titles for under 10 bucks, which is basically free in these economic times. So, this week if you've been looking for an excuse to purchase Dante's Inferno, Daylight, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare or any of the Fatal Frame games, you're in luck. Next week, might we suggest any and all Castlevania games? Because you obviously need to buy Symphony of the Night yet again. Or how about Catherine? And if those seem a little heavy, there's always Guacamelee, which is built around the Mexican Day of the Dead motif.
Of course, if games aren't your cup of tea (then why are you even here?) there are plenty of horror films and shows available to get your fright on. Of course, the only one you absolutely need to own is Halloween III: Season of the Witch. Don't ask questions, don't look it up, just buy it. Might I also recommend Stir Of Echoes, which is also known as the poor movie that had the unfortunate happenstance of being released a few weeks after The Sixth Sense? All Saw movies are also available.
And of course, Nanny McPhee. The horror. The horror. Select tv shows, like the entire run of Being Human, are also on sale.
