For all of its Assassin's Creed-esque gameplay, Shadow of Mordor is lacking in true stealth and deception. Monolith is changing that with the all new, completely free DLC pack, The Power of Shadow.
Shadow Warrior Remake Comes To PS4
Talion's undead Sherman-esque march to the Black Gates would be so much easier if he could look like one of the bad guys. Well, he is in luck. The new pack, "allows players to don the appearance of Sauron's fearsome servant, the Black Hand, and power up to take down their Nemesis using the new Epic Runes of Power."
So, not only do you get to totally psych out your enemies, but you also get access to a few goodies. The new runes coming with the update are:
I Am Bread Is The Best Thing Since, Well...
One with Nature - Immunity to Poison attacks from Uruk Captains or Ghuls.
Ascendant - Double Focus Time for slow motion ranged combat.
Elven Grace - Increased defense which halves the damage of enemy strikes.
We like Shadow Of Mordor, even if we don't quite love it. Our review explains how it may be one of the best Assassin's Creed games ever, and that is both blessing and curse. The Power of Shadow DLC will simply splash a coat of paint on the game and give you that tingly feeling you get when you pull a fast one over on the bad guys.
Of course, there is a lot more DLC coming for fans of Tolkien. You can pick up the Season Pass and with it, you'll get plenty of new challenges, weapon, skins and an all new story mission, which puts you in the shoes of Celebrimbor, before he got all wraithy.
