The Wii U version of Super Smash Bros is getting all of Nintendo's attention now that the 3DS edition is in the hands of millions worldwide, but there's a good amount about that game that remains a mystery.
The Top 4 New Characters In Super Smash Bros
Nintendo will be hosting a livestream event on Thursday, October 23, to reveal more information about the console version of Super Smash Bros. The stream will kick off at 6 p.m. Eastern, and promises to show off "50 new things" from the game.
The daily Miiverse forum posts from series director Masahiro Sakurai focused on the 3DS version for months, and even though the titles share many features, specifics about the Wii U game were rare. Even the release date was only recently announced, coming not long after the global launch of Super Smash Bros for 3DS. The pic of the day posts have recently (occasionally) revealed previously unseen Wii U features, such as the mysterious Master Hand mode, but there's a lot left to learn about the title.
Our Guide For Jumping Into Super Smash Bros On 3DS
The 3DS edition has sold well worldwide since release, and it will be interesting to see if consumers are planning to purchase both versions of the game. For the more hardcore crowd, the competitive scene around the new title is already developing, with Dabuz taking home the crown in an official Nintendo tournament. The Wii U version, though, is more likely to be the tournament mainstay moving forward. Super Smash Bros for Wii U is set to launch on November 21.
