Developer Insomniac Games and Xbox announced today that Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive had officially gone gold. Game development has ended, and they certainly have a unique way of letting you know with their new video.

Odd video aside (which you can check out for yourself below, by the way), Microsoft also announced that the Day One edition of the game is available for preorder and pre-download over Xbox Live, so players won't have to wait to get in the game once its release date comes at the end of the month.
Beyond giving players access to the game on, you know, day one, the Day One edition includes a few unique items like a supercharged version of the vinyl record gun and a DIY warhammer made out of a bat and some dumbbells.
Sunset Overdrive Season Pass Announced
For the superfans, the Day One Digital Deluxe Edition includes access to the game's season pass (which you can also buy separately for $19.99). The season pass includes access to three post-launch content packs. The season pass isn't all about delayed gratification, though. It also provides the player with a collection of special items at launch, including six outfits, two amps to power up your weapons and two traps to surprise those zombie enemies on your tail. Dead set on role-playing a goth girl or disco dancer in Sunset Overdrive? The season pass can help with that.
Insomniac will also be hosting a live gameplay demo of the campaign's first hour on October 11. But for the rest of us who don't live in Southern California where the event is being held, the developer will also be streaming over the Xbox Twitch channel starting at 5:30 p.m. Eastern (2:30 p.m. Pacific). Tune in Saturday if you want to see the game in action before you can get your own hands on it in a couple of weeks.
Sunset Overdrive will drop for the Xbox One on October 28.
