Evolve, the asymmetrical multiplayer game that pits man against monster, is opening up for its "Big Alpha" at the end of the month, and Xbox One owners will be able to be the first players on the scene.

The alpha will run from October 31 through November 2 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Xbox One owners, however, will be able to log in to the alpha one day early on October 30 for a full 24-hour headstart.
Obviously the alpha won't be at the quality of the finished game, but it will be a way for fans to get their hands on the game a couple of months early. Developer Turtle Rock Studios will also be able to use this alpha as a test to make sure all of its multiplayer infrastructure can stand up to the masses. The game will open back up in January for a beta version exclusive to Xbox One owners.

Fans who preorder the game are guaranteed access into the alpha if they preorder from a participating retailer (Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Walmart) by October 21. GameStop preorders also grant alpha access if they happened on or before October 8. For those who don't quite feel like committing to a preorder, they can still have a chance of winning alpha access by registering with one of the codes that Evolve's social media accounts will be posting over the next few weeks. These codes don't automatically grant alpha access, but they will enter players into a draw for it.
