The Internet Has Played 75 Years Of The Crusades In Just Over A Week, And Other Stronghold Crusader 2 Facts

It is comforting that in these contentious times, where understanding is key to the continued existence of the human people, we can all band together and revel in our glorious, gorier past and kill each other with wanton abandon. All from the safety and security of our computers.

BRO! Broforce October Update Now Live; New Bros, Maps And FREEDOM

At least, that is what it looks like when you read the newly released infographic from Firefly Studios regarding the first week of release for Stronghold Crusader 2. In a little over seven days since the game was released on September 23, players managed over 75 years of playtime. YEARS. That is 25 times the length of the actual Third Crusade the game is set in.

All told, every major and minor incursion into the Holy Land, known collectively as The Crusades, lasted about two hundred years until the fall of Acre in the late 13th century. Given that the game has been out for two weeks now, we have effectively played through the entirety of the medieval-era Crusades. Well done. And the number of people we've killed? Insane. Apparently, a third of the world's population at the time. Let's not even get into the amount of dead animal carcasses we have flung over the walls in an attempt to poison the enemy's water supply.

Come Sail Away With Our Styx: Master Of Shadows Review

Stronghold Crusader 2 quickly became the number one Top Seller on Steam, boosted up the charts by long time fans of the series buying the game on launch day.

"Stronghold Crusader 2 is a hugely important game for us and a title we plan to support with new content going forward." says the developers on the official site, "Over the coming weeks and months we will be releasing various updates for the game, focusing at first on bug fixes and fine tuning for game balance."

The post later added that "we have a number of exciting feature updates and DLC planned. These include a further eight AI characters, new maps for different game modes, classic Crusader 1 maps, Steam Workshop and many player requested features such as Strongwall."

"The team is looking forward to implementing some great suggestions and seeing what players can come up with in terms of user-generated content, from custom maps to castle designs. If these early gameplay stats are anything to go by Stronghold Crusader 2 has a long life ahead of it, something will we do our absolute best to support."

The game is available on Steam now in both standard ($49.99) and special editions ($59.99).
