Apple will be holding an event on October 16 that will reveal Apple's next models of iPad and iMac while also giving final details about the new OS X upgrade, Re/code reported.
AT&T Extends iPhone Trade-In Promotion
Even though Apple just finished up with a record-breaking sales weekend after the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the company still isn't done showing off new devices. This month, Apple is moving from a focus on its smartphones to a new focus on its tablets and desktops. According to the report, the October 16 event is set to unveil the newest line of 9.7-inch iPads, which are rumored to come with Touch ID support and be available in all three colors introduced by the iPhone 5S: silver, space gray and a new gold option.
Another device reported to be on display is a rumored 5K Retina Display iMac.

Also said to be up for display next week is Apple's upcoming desktop operating system upgrade: OS X Yosemite. Yosemite has been advertised as having an unprecedented amount of compatibility with the new iOS 8. Apple says that by linking an iOS 8 smartphone with a Mac running Yosemite, users will be able to answer calls or message others from their computer without taking their phone out.
Considering iOS 8 has been out and about for a couple weeks now, it's about time for Apple to start rolling out Yosemite so Apple users can actually start enjoying this kind of connectivity.
Don't expect the October 16 event to be as grandiose as last month's. That event was their big cash grab of the year. The iPhone is Apple's most lucrative line of products (Apple sells twice as many iPhones as iPads, and the phones generates more revenue on average), so an announcement of a new iPhone coupled with the reveal of a brand-new device in the Apple Watch made for a notable day. New iPads and iMacs are exciting, but they likely won't be a huge step for the company.
Long story short, don't expect another live concert next week.
