Pokemon are like Halloween candy. You travel around from strangely decorated place to strangely decorated place and challenge folks and challenge them to a bitter, socially acceptable form of an illegal activity (strange kids dressed up as pirates wandering onto your lawn is a jailable offense) and at the end of this stand off, you walk away with something you didn't have before.

After all, the point of Halloween is to get ALL the candy. Much like how the point of Pokemon is catching them all. To that end, the Pokemon Company is offering a special Halloween-themed Pokemon for the month of October: the Pumpkaboo. You can acquire the Ghost and Grass type pocket monster via the Nintendo Network distribution center.
Pumpkaboo, the Pumpkin Pokémon, comes in four sizes, each featuring different stats for players to take advantage of. Super-Size Pumpkaboo typically possess a larger HP stat than their smaller counterparts, making them more durable during Pokémon battles.

Even more bone-chilling than that, Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist are the only known Pokémon that can learn the move Trick-or-Treat, which can add an eerie element to any encounter by adding the Ghost type to opponents!
This Super Size Pumpkaboo comes with moves that fit the Halloween theme, including Trick-or-Treat and Scary Face. Plus, it's holding a Rocky Helmet, which I am told can deal some sort of damage.
The Pumpkaboo is vital to qualify for the Halloween event 'Trick-Or-Treat Friendly'. Get a Pumpkaboo, then trade it to evolve it into a Gourgeist (like a gourd, get it?). The Trick-or-Treat Friendly, is a Single Battle competition using Ghost-type Pokémon only. As for the Gourgeist, you need to have that in your Battle Box in order to compete. The tournament sign up runs from October 16 to October 23, and the competition period is October 24 thru 26. All players will receive five Rare Candy Items for whichever version of the game they are playing.
