According to Badass Digest and Making Star Wars, the character played by Daisy Ridley is most definitely named Kira - probably in an homage to female NPCs the world over. She lives in a toppled AT-AT on a desert planet which, as far as we know, is NOT Tatooine. The severed hand clutching a lightsaber that allegedly opens the film is found by a blue alien guy, and brought to junkyard dealer Daisy.
With her is Max Von Sydow, playing an old cyborg coot, who rambles on without making much sense - until he sees the lightsaber, which turns him lucid and even makes him namedrop some prequel characters.

More uncertainly, Badass also reports that there's very little Leia news besides the fact that she apparently has a scene with multiple Hutts (scroll down to the comments for the writer to talk on that one).
