The retail release of Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition will be happening next week. Not to feel left out, Microsoft announced yesterday that the Xbox One port of the company's newly purchased IP would be sold in physical copies as well starting next month.
Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition Retail Version Announced
Since its release in early September, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition has been limited to a digital download. Apparently, the increased capabilities of the next-gen console ports of the game have been successful enough to merit the production of full retail copies. The retail version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is set to hit store shelves November 18.
The retail version will run gamers $19.99, the same price as a new digital copy on the Xbox Games Store. Current Xbox 360 Minecraft players, however, will probably want to upgrade to the digital version instead of waiting for the retail version. A digital upgrade only costs players $4.99, and the retail version will not be eligible for this upgrade price.
