Nintendo is taking Super Smash Bros on tour to popular college football tailgate stops, giving rival fans a chance to compete against one another while waiting for their teams to kick off.
Super Smash Bros For Wii U Can Be Purchased In A Gamecube Controller Bundle
The publisher will be bringing a demo version of the Wii U title to big games around the country, keeping track of the combined scores for the home and visiting fans. The 3DS game will also be available for matches against your friends while you eat, drink, and brawl (hopefully only in the game).
Transparent Red & Blue 2DS Models Launching In Europe Alongside New Pokemon Games
What does Super Smash Bros have to do with college football? Not a thing. But friendly competition is friendly competition, and it gives Nintendo a chance to promote what has been a great party game series to large, excited crowds. Here are the stops Nintendo will be making:
Oct. 4: | LSU at Auburn | ||
Oct. 11: | Penn State at Michigan
Oct. 18: | Georgia vs. Arkansas
Oct. 25: | Alabama at Tennessee
Nov. 1: | Florida vs. Georgia
Nov. 8: | Alabama at LSU | ||
Nov. 15: | Florida State at Miami
Nov. 22: | Louisville at Notre Dame
Nov. 29: | Michigan at Ohio State
The 3DS version will launch on October 3, while the Wii U version has yet to be given a specific release date. We're now entering the holiday quarter, when the game is expected, so the lack of a launch date at this point is disconcerting. The release of the 3DS version may allow Nintendo to focus on the console edition--stay tuned for news.
