Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Finally Released On Mac App Store: Who Needs Boxes When You Have Cyborg Ninjas? [VIDEO]

Now Mac Users Can Hang Out With Raiden In Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

More like Mac Gear, amirite? Konami today announced that the surprisingly fun hack'n'slash title Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, the ninth entry into the official Metal Gear canon, is now available for Macintosh users.

Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain TGS Screens

The debut marks the first time any of the legendary stealth action series is available for the platform. The game sheds a lot of the elements that mark the Metal Gear series, such as long winded cutscenes and cardboard boxes, in favor of a more pure action aesthetic. Players assume the role of everyone's favorite Metal Gear character, Raiden (from MGS: Sons Of Liberty) who got a serious upgrade in the time since then. He's a cyborg now and it's his one and only job to chop up other cyborgs.

Revengeance was a big hit when it was released last year, and it helped make the wait for MGS V a bit less painful.

Sony's Offering 700 Titles For Playstation TV Launch

"Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is the perfect marquee title to initiate our company publishing strategy, while also showcasing our unparalleled technology," said Vikas Gupta, CEO & President at TransGaming, the company that is teaming up with Konami to bring the title to the platform. "The Metal Gear series is a legendary game franchise and we are privileged to be bringing the game to Mac. TransGaming's proprietary enablement technology ensures Mac gameplay quality is on par with current console versions."

Us Mac gamers do not get a lot of love. It is nice to see that someone still cares. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is available at Mac Store for $29.99. The Mac version is not currently listed on Steam, but it will be made available there ASAP. As a promotional launch special offer, gamers will receive a $5 discount available for five days only, expiring on September 30, 2014.
