The popular, absurdist olde-timey radio show/podcast/multi-media art...thing The Thrilling Adventure Hour is heading to the big apple for New York Comic Con and the New York Super Week.
Star Trek: TNG Cast Will Be On Hand At NYCC For Autograph Signing
Running since 2005, The Thrilling Adventure Hour is a 1940s-esque radio program, lovingly called 'live audio theater'. You can find out more about the show, even buy tickets to their monthly event at their website. The WorkJuice Players, the improv troupe behind the program, will be on hand at NYCC "with a dedicated Thrilling Adventure Hour booth for signings and exclusive merchandise, a full cast panel on Sunday, October 12 with special New York Comic Con announcements, appearances in the World of Mouse Guard panel, and much, much more.
Workjuice will also be releasing their epic The Thrilling Adventure Hour/Welcome To The Night Vale crossover from this year's SDCC on October 1.
Adventure Time Heads To New York Comic Con
The WorkJuice Players that will be present include Paget Brewster, Paul F. Tompkins, Marc Evan Jackson, Autumn Reeser, Craig Cackowski, Hal Lublin, and Mark Gagliardi, co-creators Ben Acker & Ben Blacker and show composer Andy Paley. Special guests include Janet Varney (The Legend of Korra), Terry Kinney (Oz), geek singer-songwriters Paul & Storm, Scott Adsit (30 Rock) as well as your favorite players from "WorkJuice East" including John Hodgman (The Daily Show) and geek demi-god Jonathan Coulton.
On October 10, you can join Donal Logue, Janet Varney and Scott Adsit for the Thrilling Adventure Hour Presents: WorkJuice Improv Show & Panel, where the whole cast will be on hand to create an entire show right there on the spot and then field your questions. Standing room only tickets may still be available.
The troupe will be performing two Thrilling Adventure Hour live shows with a host of surprise guests at their normal haunt in the Bell House in Brooklyn on Saturday, October 11. The event is sold out, but the company will likely make them available via digital download soon thereafter.
