EA Sports has begun patching some of the many missing NHL 15 features into the game via free updates.
FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Launches On Mobile Devices
Today, a number of modes that were present in past NHL titles and expected to be in the new release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have made it into the game. The game was widely criticized for not offering modes and features that had been staples of the series in years past.
The only game mode added in the update is Playoff Mode, which includes a bracket you can customize with teams from the NHL and other leagues. As for smaller features within other modes, the 3 Stars have been added after every game, and coach feedback is now present in Be A Pro. The coach will now grade your performance between shifts (which you still cannot sim through and have to watch the entirety of) and offer suggestions on how to improve.

Finally, some tweaks were made to Hockey Ultimate Team to improve the interface and menus. The line editing screen more clearly delivers information on players, and there are new animations for player items.
There is still plenty missing from the game on new consoles--Online Team Play, EASHL (which will not be coming), drafting in GM Mode, and more--but some features will be added in through future updates.
