Rail fans, unite. The next installment in the beloved franchise, Train Simulator 2015 has left the station and arrived today on Steam for the PC.
Look At All These Pretty Little Crimes In New Sherlock Holmes Game For Steam
The game will let players control some of the world's most powerful high speed trains across three routes currently out: London to Peterborough East Coast Main Line route; New York to New Haven North East Corridor route (which let's face it, is "high speed" in name only) and Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen route.
Train Simulator 2015 will be compatible with an existing range of more than 100 add-on locomotives and routes, which allow fans the ability to customize their experience. Players can create and edit routes and scenarios and share them via Steam Workshop.
Live Life A Quarter Mile At A Time In New World Of Tanks Rally Mode
The major new mechanic in TS 2015 is the TS Academy, which will help newcomers to the wide world of locomotion quickly learn the ins and outs of the trade. "In TS Academy players can experience all types of trains, as well as mastering different environments and learning the intricacies of train operations and signaling systems. They can go from beginner to pro, earning driver licenses and awards along the way."
The launch trailer, which somehow manages to be both more dramatic and better than all three seasons of Hell on Wheels, features a familiar, comforting voice. Sean 'Always Des' Bean narrates the trailer and he's perfect. I like to imagine the disembodied ghost of Ned Stark is the one actually talking to us, as if he is confused and amazed by these powerful iron horses.
"Last year we started to widen our messaging to a broader audience via our #WeAreRailFans campaign, and we were delighted with the response we received from fans across the world, giving a huge thumbs-up to our trailer and interacting really positively on www.wearerailfans.com," said Dovetail's Director of Brand, Doug McConkey. "So this year we were keen to provide the next chapter of that story, to salute rail fans and everything they love about these mighty machines."
