We've been somewhat excited about it here at GameNGuide for a while now, and the several closed betas, open betas and contests have been reported on at some length by us, but today we can finally say the world of ArcheAge is open to the public.

Lineage and Lineage 2 creator Jake Song's latest is described as a mix between a theme park and a sandbox-style MMO. Its most vaunted game features, however, are all of the kind that encourage player interaction and (to be quite honest) jerk-assery. Indeed, our own impressions of the closed beta were less than impressed with the theme park elements of the game, but curious about the sand box style stuff that was closed off to low level characters.
Besides the oft-heralded player-run (and often crooked as hell) jury systems, you can also own ships, castles, lands, etc. in game - but they will be subject to robbers and raiders at all times. It's griefing on a grand scale! It's up to you to build alliances to protect what's yours.
