The once and future king of the music game genre, Harmonix, who created the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises, has announced a new partnership with Tilting Point to create new properties for the mobile marketplace.

True to the developer's nature, the game will be music-based.
"We've known the guys at Tilting Point for years through EA Partners, and recently we began exploring ideas for games we'd like to work on together," said Alex Rigopulos, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Harmonix.

"Tilting Point has been instrumental in helping us to hone those ideas and to identify the ones that fit best with the mobile market," Rigolpulos continued. "We've known for a long time that we needed a partner to help us succeed on mobile, and Tilting Point simply has the best offering for developers, providing the tools, talent, and experience to turn our ideas into hit games."
Harmonix will create all future games under this partnership. They will provide the product, while Tilting Point will provide support and input towards many of the business aspects- funding, monetization, data analysis, PR, customer support, etc, etc.
No details have been released by ether company regarding the nature of the upcoming mobile game. Here is hoping that the new partnership will lead to more success in getting successful, sought after games off the ground.
"There is a huge opportunity on mobile to create the next big hit in music games and Harmonix is ideally suited to take advantage of that opportunity," said Tom Frisina, Executive Chairman of Tilting Point.
Tilting Point has just gotten into the mobile market., although they've released three titles already. Their latest was the humorous puzzle game The Sleeping Prince from Signal Studios, now available on the App Store.
