The first batch of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 Pluses have made it safely Stateside after touching down in Chicago yesterday, MacRumors reported.
The Battery In The iPhone 6 Plus Is A Great Improvement
Tomorrow opens up preorders for the new generation of Apple smartphone, but it seems like the devices themselves are already here, though no doubt under the tightest security Apple can muster. According to the report, nearly 100 tons' worth of phones landed yesterday in a shipment from China.
This shipment, the report continues, isn't even the largest delivery that Apple has planned. The company has reportedly secured the lion's share of shipment space for deliveries leaving China, exporting a volume so high it is said to have bumped other manufacturers out of line.
How Does The New iPhone Compare To Other Video Game Handhelds?
Getting the phones onto American soil early assures Apple that its retail stores will have plenty of time to get their shipments, solidify their inventories and be ready for the oncoming deluge of customers that have already started lining up. Making sure that a healthy number of devices get to all of its locations could help Apple avoid early supply problems, though there have been rumors that the iPhone 6 will be shipping more units than the 6 Plus, which was said to have experienced production problems.
Both models of the iPhone 6 will officially hit store shelves next week on September 19, but Apple announced that preorders will begin tomorrow. The news this week has largely focused on the fact that the iPhone 6 is coming. If this report is accurate, though, we should start saying that the iPhone 6 is here.
