Support for Amazon Instant Video is now included within the regular Amazon app for Android. Through the app, Android users can now buy or rent movies from Amazon's collection. For those Android users who also have an Amazon Prime account (and who doesn't like free expedited shipping combined with a Netflix-esque streaming service?), Prime Instant Video is supported as well. The player for these instant videos can be found over on Amazon's site. The update for Amazon's Android app is supported for U.K. and German users with Prime subscriptions as well.
With the Prime Instant Video app, Prime subscribers can stream Amazon's admirable selection of shows and movies, some of which you can't find streaming on Netflix. Now, Android users can keep up their binge of Downton Abbey or Avatar: The Last Airbender while on the go. Prime streaming also includes a whole host of HBO shows, including classics like The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood and The Wire alongside some of the smaller series like Rome and Oz.
