The Apple fanatics are already lining up at Apple Stores in New York City, meaning a new iPhone is about to launch. The tech press has been abuzz with rumors about Apple's big release event next Tuesday, September 9.
Analyst Claims New iPhone 6 Will Come in A 128GB Version
First, Apple will almost definitely release the iPhone 6. Rumors say the the new iPhone will come in a 4.7-inch version and a bigger, more luxurious 5.5-inch version. The bigger version could have an ultra-strong sapphire screen and both may have as much as 128GB of storage. Apple is also reportedly working on technology that would let you pay with the phone.
Analysts are also saying we'll meet the new iPad Air, probably to showcase the variety of screen sizes available from Apple now, which is now apparently trying to bridge the size gap between smartphones and tablets.
The iPhone 6 Might Not Be The Only Thing On Display At Apple's Tuesday Event
The most exciting, "one more moment" device Apple CEO Tim Cook is supposed to show us, though, is an Apple smartwatch. An "iWatch" (no one really has a solid lead on the name) would be the first truly different device from Apple since the late Steve Jobs invented the tablet market back in 2010. Since then, we've only seen iterations and updates of the existing lineup, causing many to wonder if Apple lost its sense of innovation with Jobs' passing.
Other rumors suggest the wearable may not be a watch at all, but a collection of other devices--we won't know for sure until the event on Tuesday, when we will see which of these reports turn out to be accurate.
