This year marks Naughty Dog's 30th anniversary of making games. September will mark the anniversary to the month, but the developer is celebrating early with a trip to PAX Prime this weekend with panels and merchandise celebrating its many successful franchises.
Uncharted 4 Will Not Be The Last Of Us, Naughty Dog Said
Throughout the weekend, different merchants will be selling items from Naughty Dog's latest IP, The Last of Us. Comic book publisher Dark Horse will have copies of The Last of Us graphic novel and books of art from the game. Fans at PAX will also be able to find The Last of Us clothes, including a T-shirt design exclusive to the convention.
Several members of Naughty Dog's team will also be at the convention to sit on two of the weekend's industry panels. The first talks about combat in modern AAA games that features two Naughty Dog game designers alongside developers from Infamous studio Sucker Punch Productions and Respawn, the team behind Titanfall. In the second panel, professionals from all over the game industry – including members from Naughty Dog and Sunset Overdrive developer Insomniac – will talk about late career moves into the video game industry in an event titled "Game-Changers: Making Mid-Career Transistions & Awesome Games."
Compare The Last Of Us Remastered On PS4 To The Original PS3 Version
So far, there's no word about seeing more from Uncharted 4 at PAX, but, hey, a guy can dream.
Naughty Dog's 30-year celebration is also going beyond PAX with the release The Art of Naughty Dog, a collection of art from all of the developer's most popular creations. The book includes artwork from modern hits like The Last of Us and Uncharted as well as older favorites like Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter. A limited edition of the book is set to launch closer to the team's actual anniversary in September.
